Working Day Calculator — Days Between Dates Excluding Weekends

Our working day calculator makes it easy to count business days between two dates, automatically excluding weekends and public holidays. Whether you're tracking a project deadline, calculating a payment due date, or figuring out a delivery schedule, this tool gives you accurate results fast.

Simply select your start and end dates, choose your country, and the days between calculator instantly shows total working days, weekends skipped, and holidays excluded. It supports country-specific holiday calendars for over 100 countries — so whether you're in the US, UK, India, or Australia, the results are always accurate.

The day calculator between dates is also useful for legal deadlines, contract durations, and HR leave calculations. Use it alongside our duration calculator for total elapsed time and our age calculator for date-of-birth related tasks.

Weekend Calculator — Counting Days Excluding Saturday & Sunday

When most people search for a 'weekend calculator' they mean exactly this tool: a calculator that excludes Saturdays and Sundays from a date range. Our business days calculator does this automatically — every result you see has weekends already removed from the count.

If your work week has different weekend days (Friday-Saturday in many Middle Eastern countries, or Sunday-only in some traditions), you can configure the calculator to match. For most users in North America, Europe, India, Australia, and East Asia, the default Saturday-Sunday weekend covers their use case.

Holiday Coverage by Country

The calculator includes built-in public holiday calendars for the major business jurisdictions. Below is a sample of what is covered for the most-searched countries.

United States

All 11 federal holidays — New Year's Day, MLK Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas. State-specific holidays (e.g., Patriots' Day in Massachusetts) are not included by default but can be added manually.

United Kingdom

All UK bank holidays for England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland — including New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Early May Bank Holiday, Spring Bank Holiday, Summer Bank Holiday, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. Scottish bank holidays (St. Andrew's Day, 2nd January) are also included.

India

National holidays — Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti — plus major religious holidays observed across most states (Diwali, Holi, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Christmas, Good Friday, Mahavir Jayanti). State-specific gazetted holidays vary; add them manually for precise calculation.

Australia

National public holidays — New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day. State-specific holidays (Queen's Birthday timing varies by state, plus state-specific days like Labour Day) are included where applicable.

Other Countries

150+ countries covered including Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Singapore, UAE, and most of the EU. Pick your country from the dropdown to see the exact list of holidays applied. If your country is not listed, contact us — we add new countries on request.

Common Business Days Use Cases

Where this tool sees the most use.

Project deadline calculation

Set today as start, deadline as end, exclude weekends and country holidays. The result tells you exactly how many working days you have to ship.

Payment terms (Net 30 in business days)

Some contracts specify 'Net 30 business days' rather than calendar days. Set the invoice date as start, count 30 business days forward (use Add/Subtract Time tool for the reverse direction).

HR leave balance

When an employee requests two consecutive weeks of leave, the actual leave days deducted are 10 business days, not 14 calendar days. Use the calculator to confirm the correct deduction.

Legal deadlines

Court filing deadlines and statutory response windows are usually counted in business days. Set the trigger event as start, deadline rule (e.g., '21 business days') and the calculator returns the precise due date.
